Barrango

Last week I got to go on a field trip with my Materials & Props class to a company called Barrango. They manufacture all sorts of props, decorations, carousel horses, Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, and many more things. Seeing their warehouse was very interesting because they have such a variety of products. Its a family owned business and everything is made by hand. The sketches are done, then the molding artists make the molds and then the painters paint. Its really much more complicated than that but they do everything by hand which is amazing. I was taking pictures from my phone as we were walking so they are not the best but here are the snapshots I took:

One of the coolest parts about the tour was the very beginning. It was before we entered the warehouse where all the props are. We were in a small room with the bookshelf you see below...but instead of a normal bookshelf it was a secret door! And that how we entered into the warehouse. So Awesome!!

Wine tasting at Byrington Winery

My roommate Kate and I decided to go to a wine tasting that was nearby after our hike. It was up the Santa Cruz mountains a little ways so it was a fun little curvy drive. Here are some pictures of the pretty vineyard and of the winery building...

Graphic Design Museum, San Francisco

In this gallery it was all work done my well known graphic designers living and working in San Francisco. I didn't get very many pictures but there was work for Northface, Ben & Jerrys, Organics Food Line, Several Wine companies, and many other projects. It was very interesting to see how much nation-wide advertising comes from just San Francisco.

Murphys Trip

Soon after Vegas I got to go to Murphy's. Murphy's is a small town in California that is right next to Bear Valley where there is mountains and ski slopes. It was for the HGH Get Away Trip...so it was both houses. We stayed in a vacation home nearby the mountain. Everyone did different things. Some played golf, some went hiking, some went wine tasting, and some went skiing\snowboarding (Me! Im in this group!) I got my first ski rental equipment, my first lesson, and my first time down the mountain. It was amazing and I want to go all the time now. I had some pretty crazy bruises from it that lasted awhile though. Overall I was so thankful to go on this trip to just get away and to fellowship with my brothers and sisters.

Me in front of the mountain I just owned....Bam!

Besides these pictures I also have in my possession a very funny video of everyone (with Phil leading it) singing and doing hand motions to "In a cabin, In the woods". I would have posted it but my life was threatened so I decided it will just stay on my personal computer for my own enjoyment. Sorry guys! ;)
