Underwater Photoshoot

In my materials and props class we had to make cubes out of foamcore. Then we brought in props, "products", and fabric for our photoshoot. We had to come up with a theme for it and use props accordingly. We shot the pictures ourselves and then plugged it into photoshop to tweak it.

Here is my final photo I decided to go with...

Here is my actual final photo I turned in after photoshop...

Barrango

Last week I got to go on a field trip with my Materials & Props class to a company called Barrango. They manufacture all sorts of props, decorations, carousel horses, Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, and many more things. Seeing their warehouse was very interesting because they have such a variety of products. Its a family owned business and everything is made by hand. The sketches are done, then the molding artists make the molds and then the painters paint. Its really much more complicated than that but they do everything by hand which is amazing. I was taking pictures from my phone as we were walking so they are not the best but here are the snapshots I took:

One of the coolest parts about the tour was the very beginning. It was before we entered the warehouse where all the props are. We were in a small room with the bookshelf you see below...but instead of a normal bookshelf it was a secret door! And that how we entered into the warehouse. So Awesome!!

Graphic Design Museum, San Francisco

In this gallery it was all work done my well known graphic designers living and working in San Francisco. I didn't get very many pictures but there was work for Northface, Ben & Jerrys, Organics Food Line, Several Wine companies, and many other projects. It was very interesting to see how much nation-wide advertising comes from just San Francisco.

At FIDM if you are a VCOM student in the professional designation program or in your last quarter you can apply to attend Global Shop in Vegas and be apart of the program there. The head of the Viscom department sets up several meetings with professionals in the field. I got accepted to go this year. Here are some pictures from my trip.
